The island Cuba watches over the Gulf of Mexico. Cuba is remembered by many things one is the Political Crisis it has gone through and another is its culture specific the music. Cuba is made up of colonial towns, cathedrals, majestic fortresses and Spanish style homes. There are many tobacco fields and swamps that exist in Cuba. Over 1,000
years ago, the First Indian settlers settled and gave this island its name " Cuba". A half of
million Native Americans lived on this island.
In Spain, on August 3, 1392, Columbus sailed to Cuba. He landed in Cuba in
1492. He called this " Paradise". Portos Santo is where Columbus settled in Cuba.
