Of all the branches of government, the executive is the oldest and the most widely adopted institution. The executive branch of government focuses on political power and effective decision making. All political systems have an executive in which leadership is concentrated in the hands of a single individual or a small elite group. The executive branch has access to political resources which may not be available or accessible to other branches of government. The Executive knows more about the government than most others, like the assemblies or judiciarys. They are also the primary decision makers, and may act in secrecy, to prevent knowledge of others of the generated info.
