The assumption is found throughout western society is that some religious structure is required to produce an adult with a moral fiber. It is difficult to tell in some cases; certainly the Bible and many other religious texts supply followers with basic instructions for behavior and conduct, but this does not necessarily dictate that such a text must be present in order for an individual to be moral. Religious models do well to inspire individuals to a moral and scrupulous life; however, the presence of moral character does not have a religious prerequisite.
