In the trilogy of books written by Thomas Harris, Hannibal Lecter is a favorite character that is often critiqued. People want to know how a man can act in the manner that he does. A very polished and educated man, Lecter is convicted of murdering and eating his victims. Though people enjoy his antics on screen and in the book, few realize his motives behind the killings.
