Essendon ruckman Paul Salmon has confirmed his retirement from AFL football.
The veteran ruckman, who returned to Essendon in 2002 after a one year retirement, has confirmed to the Essendon website that business and family concerns must now take priority, even though he felt he could have continued in 2003 and been a reasonable contributor for the Bombers.
I certainly felt that I could have gone on and made a contribution but I have so many other things in my life and basically they must now be my priority,” Salmon said. “I want to spend time with the family and my business interests, including Journey Corporation, and my media role with Channel 7 take up a lot of my time.”
Salmon played 15 games and booted 11 goals for the Bomber
