Civic Stances The land we live in is the land of the free, meaning economically people are free to do as they want. A person has total control of where they choose to work, or they can simply avoid working at all. We live in a country that chooses democracy as a way of governing people. Some countries are not like that. In other countries, distribution of wealth is equal among all and the government has total control over them. To understand capitalism and conservatism, one must understand the advantages and disadvantages of social order, the problems of an economically equal society, and the distinctions of wealth under capitalism.
