On August 6, 1945 President Truman faced the task of telling the American people that, a United States army plane dropped a single atomic bomb on the center of Hiroshima, 70,000 lives were ended in a flash. (C.L Sulzberger 612). To the American people who were tired from the long and harsh war, such a large measure seemed necessary, and a horrible but efficient way to end the madness that was World War II. However, the madness had just begun. The effects of the atomic bomb will always remain known. There were strong points that made the bombing efficient but there were allot that made it hard for Japanese citizens.
