Importance of Dream Interpretation

People have been interpreting their dreams since 3000-4000 BC, when they were recorded on clay tablets. These ancient societies believed their dreams to be an extension of reality. They thought their “dream world” was more powerful than the real one. (Dream moods, History) In ancient Egypt, when you had a really vivid dream, they thought it was a gift from the gods. Egyptians recorded their dreams with hieroglyphics, and those who could analyze them were considered divinely gifted. Roman generals took a dream interpreter whenever they went to battle. Their beloved dreams were like a map that needed to be followed. The Roman Senate would accept dreams to determine political strategies and new courses of action.
