Introduction
Throughout a women’s life, we all dream of having children. We dream of having a child that is not only part of our life, but actually part of us. We never imagine something during our pregnancy going wrong, or that something may not turn out exactly how we planned. Then instantly our world could be turned upside down. Our baby, the one we have dreamed of for years, could be diagnosed with a birth defect known as, an Omphalocele.
Discussion
An Omphalocele can be detected on a fetal ultrasound. If an Omphalocele is detected precautionary measures will be taken throughout the rest of the pregnancy.
