What I think of Mao is as a good man who wanted to change china, and rebuild it into a more better place, by ridding the 4 olds, china would no longer have ties to the olden ways, which brings in space for new ways, so china can develop but not into a capitalist country.
What Mao had done faulty would be to think capitalism was bad, though china was ahead in medicines and wisdom; they lacked the military and industrial strength, in which the Europeans developed in.
This cause a set back for Asian countries, including china.
Although it’s a double edged sword for Mao to disenable children from going to school, either way would lead to a different path.
