The whole process of copyright begins as soon as any original work is created. This lasts for approximately 70 years after your death after which it may be used without your permission, unless, it is assigned to some other person by selling it, lending it, or giving it away. The example I intend to use throughout this essay is a song called Perfect Alibi created by myself.
The first thing I need to do is protect my masterpiece and provide proof of ownership in case of future dispute. If I was not alone in making this song I would possibly have to agree on a contribution split with any other writers usually called a confirmation of agreement.
