The story of ADL began in 1886 when Dr. Arthur Dehon Little founded Arthur D. Little, Inc. in 1886 in Boston Massachusetts. ADL was an internationally known consulting firm that offered services such as research, engineering, and management consulting services. The disciplines that ADL concentrated in ranged from strategic management to hazardous waste management to forensic economics. Dr. Little was committed to the idea that science and technology were the keys to progress and felt that positive thinking and a “can-do” attitude could successfully apply new ideas to the problems of industry and government. In 1917, ADL moved to Cambridge, Massachussettes where M.I.T. already called home. By 1984, ADL’s sales volume exceeded $200
