To build a nation, a lot of strength and perseverance is needed for it to become successful. It takes time and dedication to develop a government and a set of laws to follow by. It is especially hard to form a nation on a land that someone has already inhabited. European Conquistadors helped create the new nation, but not without wiping out the Indians, who previously owned the land. The transformation of Colonial America to the United States of America from 1492-1877, would endure many bumps in the road to be come its own country, and one of the strongest heading into the 20th century.
