If the earth were warm enough to melt all the glaciers, the sea level would rise around 200 feet. This new sea level would be high enough to destroy nearly every coastal city in the world. Despite the great damage glacial destruction would cause most people still know little, and care little, about glaciers. Therefore, they would like to continue studying them. With the last of the Paradise Park ice caves having melted away in 1991, glaciologists are more than happy to have found out that Mount St Helens, North America’s most famous volcano, has grown a full-fledged glacier in its crater.
