Inspired Eccentricity and The Runaway son's childhood effect

Throughout an individuals life there are many factors which have an
effect on how that person is going to view others, and also how they are
going to live their own life. One major factor that effects every
individuals life is the environment from which they were raised from. Two
short stories that individuals childhood environments and how they
effected their later years in life are "Inspired Eccentricity", written
by Bell Hooks, and "The Runaway Son", written by Brent Staples.
In the short story, "Inspired Eccentricity", Bell Hooks discusses how she
was effected by her grandparents, who she refers to as "Daddy Gus" and
