“All men are created equal?” This is a term that was not taken very seriously in the 19th century. Huckleberry Finn, by Mark Twain is a perfect example of this quote. Twain’s real name was Samuel Clemens, and he was born in 1835, in Florida, Missouri to John and Jane Clemens, two months premature. John Clemens was an owner of a few slaves, and rarely ever laughed, Jane loved dancing and music.
When Clemens was four years old, his family moved to Hannibal, a town made famous by his books. He made a friend that would sneak out at night – Huck Finn was born.
