Michelangelo Buonarotto was born on March 6, 1475 at Caprese in Tuscany to Ludovico di Lenardo di Buonarotto Simoni and Francesca Neri. Michelangelo was born in a small village of Caprese, he always considered himself a “Son of Florence” and his father called himself “a Citizen of Florence.”
Michelangelo mother, Francesca Neri, was too sick and weak to nurse him. He was placed with a wet nurse, in a family of stonecutters. Francesca Neri died when Michelangelo was only six years old. Michelangelo was one of those kids who used fierce words and always had something to say about everything.
