There are many employment laws that differ between the State and Federal Systems. In this paper I will be discussing the employment at will policy. Arkansas is one of the many states who believe an employer can terminate an employee for any reason or no reason at all. This law is considered “at will” law. This means that you could work at a company for 40 years and show up one day and your boss could say, "I don't like your shirt. You're fired." This is rude, offensive, humiliating and not fair. But it is not illegal. This policy is acceptable in the State of Arkansas, but it is not acceptable for the Federal Government.
