Ophelia and Hamlet’s Situation: More similar than different

Love, Lust, and Lunacy. The similarities are all to familiar with Ophelia and Hamlet in William Shakespeare’s tragic play Hamlet. Dealing with the emotions of revenge, love and the complication of insanity, its plot resembles that of today’s modern day soap opera. Hamlet is the epic story of the Prince of Denmark who seeks revenge against the murderer of his father, his own uncle; that eventually results in unpredicted deaths leading up to the final duel. A predominantly fascinating aspect of the play is the similarities between Hamlet and Ophelia.
