Was the United States responsible for the Cold War?
|
The Cold War was a major struggle between the US and the USSR and a fight between Communism and capitalism. It included not one battle but many smaller battles between these forces, spread over a large period of time. The Cold War has had a huge effect on the United States and shaped many of the policies until today.
The issue was so clouded by rhetoric and propaganda that it has led to the development of several schools of thought. These varied perspectives all make valid arguments, but none can provide a definitive answer on its own. The revisionist and traditionalist views will be expressed in this essay.
