Alba Madonna

I choose a painting from Raphael called the Alba Madonna. This piece is clearly a high renaissance painting. I feel like these figures are so real its easy to get lost in the painting. The faces of all three figures seem to be three-dimensional. They are also placed in an elegant and graceful way. It is almost over exaggerated like a children’s story book. You can see the way that Mary is facing that she is like an angel. It is detailed with soft brush lines and she is given high cheekbones. I feel as though she is simple and complex at the same time. The fabric is draping all around her in a really intricate way. I love how the fabric falls to the ground sprawling out on the ground. You can see that the two children, Jesus and Joh
