A Mysterious Pathway to Death
During World War I, Jews served along with non-Jews, fighting and dying in Germany’s army (Austin 6). Everyone was treated as equals. After World War I and before the Second World War Germany felt like the world was becoming a better place. Technology had just come into place, enabling communication between countries easier and a more reliable life on many people (Rossel 3). But what the world didn’t seem to realize was that Hitler was planning the largest destruction of human life ever (Austin 3). This catastrophic event became known as the Holocaust.
