Lonely, bored, scared, and in pain were the typical feelings during Jake’s days at the hospital. Diagnosed with Acute Lymphatic Leukemia on May 30, 1996, Jake struggled to battle the disease day after day. In addition, he developed acute pancreatitis and a pancreatic pseudocyst from one of his chemotherapy drugs, and insulin dependent diabetes from the damage to his pancreas. He found it hard to sleep in the hospital where he had been for the past couple of months- loosing hope in ever returning to normalcy. However, one day new hope arrive.
