Human beings seek to control of their lives. Many accolades in our society are given based on peoples’ ability to control their world. To illustrate, high salaries await individuals who can control a company to increase its profits. Also, prestigious awards are given in the field of biology to those who have researched and discovered ways to control the DNA of animals. Furthermore, people often take great pride in things as simple as their ability to make their pets sit or roll over. This desire to control is, arguably, human nature. The Bible even supports this notion in the book of Genesis, stating that God made people to rule over the earth. Regardless of the origin of this pervasive sentiment, its presence is undeniable.
