Bipolar and ADHD
Now days most young children are diagnosed with ADD or ADHD and when they are older some doctors will say that the child has Bipolar. There are some similarities between ADHD and Bipolar but the two conditions are very different. Most parents learn that their child has a disorder when he/she is in school. Most children have a hard time concentrating, therefore their teachers ask the parents to have them tested. This is were ADHD and Bipolar can be misdiagnosed.
Both disorders share many characteristics: impulsivity, inattention, hyperactivity, physical energy, behavior and emotions change frequently, frequent coexistence of conduct disorder and oppositional-defiant disorder, and learning problem
