Ever since the beginning of time, man has grown and evolved in every aspect of life. Knowledge, obviously, is one of the important assets which humans have acquired. Recent studies prove that the starting point for knowledge is sense perception. We use our senses all the time as a guide to every little action we take. Our senses are kind of like our mentors. Although senses help us enormously, one question still leaves me wondering. Can I fully trust my senses? In my opinion, senses cannot be trusted. To affirm my point of view, I will discuss how senses should not be a person’s only source of decision making and compare my arguments to the article “Under Suspicion” and the movies “The Truman Show” and “The Matrix”.
