There are several arguments that lead to the conclusion that downloading music files from Napster is stealing and morally unacceptable. Users of Napster download music files without the “expressed written consent of the artist”. Napster was designed specifically to by-pass copyright laws and allows individuals to download CD-quality music thereby avoiding the cost of an entire CD.
