Christopher Nolan’s Memento takes control of the audience from the start to make incorrect conclusions about its characters. Nolan puts the audience right there in Leonard’s shoes, not knowing the true nature or motivation of these characters.
The first character that actually appears in Memento is Leonard Shelby or, as he hates to be called, Lenny. Incidentally, Leonard is also the main character in the movie. The movie starts off at the end of the story line and moves on to the beginning. This idea makes it possible to see the world as Leonard does, it lets the audience know what it feels like to have Leonard’s disorder, which is the lack of a short term memory. The reverse narrative in the film also seems to be more than just a gimmic
