The setting in “Greasy Lake” has a lot of importance. The time and place played a very important role on the lives of the narrator, Jeff, and Digby. After their adventurous night out I don’t think the boys will feel the need to want to be bad guys.
The guy’s night began before they reached Greasy Lake. It began when they decided to go bar hopping and get drunk. This would later show as a bad choice when they arrive to Greasy Lake and make the wrong assumption. The fact that they were drunk was not the only reason why they confused Tony Lovett’s car with the greasy guy’s car. It was also about 2 o’clock in the morning and still very dark.
