In all things in life, there must be moderation. In truth, is this simple decree not the key to a healthy and astute existence? Too much of one thing is not good, while the lack of another is also dire. If this sense of balance is deficient, calamitous consequences shall ensue. Shakespeare seeks to convey this premise by means of imagery. In Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet, ideas are represented by the use of vivid and figurative language. These ideas help articulate the theme of temperance in this illustrious tragedy. Although it is not immediately evident, there are numerous imageries used in the play, including good and evil, love and hate, and death.
