The idea that our forefathers were able to rationalize in their minds not only the acceptance but also the importance of slavery makes me greatly question the integrity of those men. How can one human being actually justify treating another human being like an animal just because of differences in appearance? I feel so limited in my thinking because who am I to judge someone who probably only did this only because it was their legal right? That is how most people live their lives.
