William Stavropoulos has had a very long and productive career with Dow, which began in Indianapolis in 1967 in pharmaceutical research. He then began to climb the ranks of the company to business manager for polyolefin plastics and director of marketing for the Dow U.S.A. plastics department. From here he continued his way and was named commercial vice president for Dow Latin America, and shortly after president of Dow Latin America. In 1990, William Stavropoulos was named president of Dow U.S.A. and was elected as a senior vice president of Dow in May 1991. In 25 years he has seen many positions and aspects of the company, he also had the advantage to see the way the corporation operates in every part of the business.
