In the late 1980s, H. Hasegawa was infected with HIV. He was one of the early-infected people in Japan. As is generally well kwon to the people, the HIV-infected meant to be the hemophiliacs in Japan at that time. Even there were heat-treated and cleansed blood products, many physicians doctored the patients that there were no chances of getting the virus by using the blood products infected with the HIV virus. This is called blood-tainted AIDS scandal. But this man, Hasegawa was not a hemophiliac but the sexually -transmitted.
