Corporate America Controls MTV Video Awards

Watching the MTV Video Music Awards was supposed to be an enjoyable evening, unfortunately I was mistaken. Although I am a music fan, mainly hip-hop and pop, the VMAs proved to be a painful experience. I have never watched an award show from start to finish and after witnessing MTV’s attempt at entertainment, I do not plan on doing it again. MTV did succeed in making money for everyone involved, including the celebrities, advertisers, and the company itself. Unfortunately for most viewers, especially those not caught up in who was wearing what, the Video Music Awards was solely a marketing tool and not a source of entertainment.
