Women suffering from fibromyalgia, in which the body's fibrous connective tissues are chronically inflamed, are also likely to have medical and psychiatric disorders. Researchers report that of 33 women with fibromyalgia studied, most had high lifetime rates of various illnesses. These include major depression (58 percent), migraine (55 percent), irritable bowel syndrome (52 percent), chronic fatigue syndrome (42 percent), panic disorder (33 percent) and family histories of a major mood disorder (22 percent). Fibromyaglia primarily affects women in middle-age.

· Chemical changes in the brain
· Sleep
