Charlie Chaplin The Circus

Throughout this movie, Charlie is experiencing strong frustration and pain. The audience in the circus saw him as funny when he wasn’t trying to be funny. He was being chased, accused of stealing when he wasn’t the thief, and ran into the circus. He became the center of attention when he was only trying to get away. He became part of the magic act when he was trying to hide from the chasers. The crowd laughed at his experience, seeing his series of bad luck as funny, but also thinking it was part of the act.
