Pride and Prejudice
Reasons for marriage can include money, necessity, physical attraction, and the presence of love. But what makes a relationship a success? Respect is the key component to a successful marriage. In Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen portrays many types of relationships, pointing out how each began, and how they are thriving or failing. The relationships of the Collinses and Darcys will be discussed to show how respect along with communication form an ideal relationship, and specifically how the Collinses are a martial failure, where as the Darcys are a marital success.
