4. In his book, Postman describes what is a “tool using culture.” He describes a tool-using culture as a culture which depends on tools to live and survive. Tool-using cultures are very primitive cultures. They are not prevalent anymore although they do still exist. People that live in tool-using cultures are able to adapt to certain challenges by creating a tool to aide them in the task they must complete. An example of this would be a hunt / gather society. They have to craft tools out of things provided by nature in order to hunt the animals they need to survive. Another example of this would be the society which is depicted in the novel, Things Fall Apart. In this novel the people in this society must rely on tools to get their work
