Dorothy Day’s Quest For Fulfillment
As a young girl Dorothy Day was not too concerned about religion and God. However, a part of her was always searching to fill a void she couldn’t quite pin point. Her “chosen way of living her faith” was arrived at after a tumultuous roller coaster of emotionally and religiously charged experiences. Her search accelerated when she reached her adolescence and went to the University of Illinois at the age of 18. When Dorothy Day describes the "long loneliness," she's describing the condition that St. Augustine was also describing when he said that his heart was restless until it found rest in God.
