For the proper functioning of Fuel Injectors without leakages through the Nozzle Retaining Nut it is necessary to ensure the proper sealing of all the contacting surfaces in the assembly. This can be ensured by proper tightening of the assembly.
“Torque controlled and angle monitored tightening” is the effective method to ensure proper tightening since it checks the required torque and the angle of rotation is monitored.
The angle limits are established by statistical methods and implemented to analyse the parts falling outside these angle limits. After this analysis various influencing factors are identified and Taguchi’s concept of Orthogonal Array can be used to find the most influencing factors.
