In order to fully understand and answer the question it is first vitally important to have a solid grasp on the meaning of utilitarianism. Generally utilitarianism is a doctrine, which enables decisions to be made according to whether or not it maximises happiness, with the greatest level of happiness being produced as the goal of any act. There are though slightly varying branches of utilitarianism that have slightly different ideas on right or wrong which must be mentioned as in some circumstances each branch will differ in giving due weight to the well being of an individual, this is a problem that they face.
