Not long before Jesus is sentenced to death, He reveals to His disciples that He is God, and He tells them that He can give them eternal life if they eat his body and drink his blood. The disciples had seen his wondrous miracles, but this was confusing to many people, but Simon Peter was convinced and was sure that this man was the One of God. Simon Peter models all acts of faith because he directly says to Jesus that he believes He is the Holy One sent by God saying, “Master, To whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life” (JN 6:68). Despite not knowing everything about him or having any real physical proof of this, Simon, a Jew, tells this man that he believes he is the savior.
