Moral Economy vs. Mercantile Capitalism

The moral economy and mercantile capitalism are almost opposites in their philosophy. Mercantile capitalism is based on the individual and his or her desires whereas the moral economy was based on the needs of the community. Both systems, however ultimately serve the same end.
