Darwin’s theory of evolution states that among the individuals of a species, there are variations. These variations create competition within a specific type of species because there is a limit to the resources that the species depend on. Within this competitive habitat some will survive and others will not. Certain variations are hereditary and therefore passed on from parent to offspring. In many cases a large amount of offspring will be produced but not all of them will survive to be full grown adults. The individuals that inherit the advantageous variations have a greater chance of surviving and will continue to reproduce.
