Jazz music was born in 1895 in New Orleans, La. It is combined with the elements of Ragtime, Marching band music, and Blues.
1. Buddy Bolden- played the cornet, and considered the first real Jazz musician. He was born in New Orleans in 1877.
2. Louis Armstrong- played the cornet, and was born in New Orleans on August 8, 1901.
3. Texas Alexander- did not play just performed with accompanist or in a band, he was born in Jewett, Texas on August 12, 1900.
4. Henry “Red” Allen- played the trumpet, and was born in Algers, La on January 7, 1908.
5. Lil Hardin-Armstrong- played the piano, and was born in Memphis, TN on February 3, 1898.
6. Sidney Arodin- played the clarinet, and was born in Westwego, La on March 29, 1901.
