I. Introduction
Today when one applies for a job, there are certain expectations one might have from an employer. An individual may expect to make the minimum-wage and probably not intend to work more than 8 hours per day. A feeling of security is now felt from ones place of employment. There are not wild expectations asked of employees beyond what they are qualified to do. Individuals do not go to work with the fear that they may be relieved of their duties for no apparent reason.
The purpose of this report is to discuss how workers gained protection of health, safety, and security of jobs, in the 20th century through Teamster Unions. Research for this paper was gathered mainly from Magazines and Books in the IUP library.
