Dry land salinity can be placed into two categorizes, primary Dry land salinity and secondary Dry land salinity. Primary Dry land salinity occurs naturally where the soil of an area, especially farms contains high levels of salt. Most of Australia’s landscape is considered as naturally “saline”, for example the great salt lakes in the centre of Australia. Many of our agricultural lands are also affected by Dry land salinity due to the vast numbers of reservoirs and ground water that contain colossal amounts of salt deep within the reservoirs and beneath the ground.
