According to www.dictionary.com heroism is “to have the qualities characteristic of a hero, as courage, bravery, fortitude, unselfishness, etc.; the display of such qualities. Heroism is the self-devotion of genius manifesting itself in action.” This makes it seem that you would have to be perfect in almost every aspect to be a hero. Odysseus definitely was not perfect. He made mistakes, such as not telling his men what was in the sack before they had reached Ithaca. Therefore, leading his men astray and the men eventually open it thinking it was gold and silver.
