Since the Great Depression and the presidency of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the United States’ domestic and foreign policy have been dominated by liberal economic policies designed to bring greater economic prosperity to all Americans.
The Depression impacted all Americans, whether they began the decade of the 1930s as rich or poor. By 1933, 25% of the American work force was unemployed. Farmers suffered as the prices they received for their goods plummeted.
