As I read the first couple of pages of The Dogs Colloquy, a short story by Miguel de Cervantes, I thought this was going to be a fictional story and have some kind of reflection of Cervantes’s life. I found it kind of comical how Cervantes uses two dogs that can talk as the main characters of the story. I just thought Cervantes was trying to be funny by using the two talking dogs but I learned towards the end of the story that he was using the dogs as an allegory of his life in during the 16 hundred’s. In the story one of the dogs name is Berganza he is telling a story to Scipio who is the other dog and in Berganza’s stories there is a lesson to be taught, and in the book it seems like Berganza is becoming wiser for the experiences he
